If you think the LeapFrog Epic is an ordinary tablet, let me assure you, it is far from it.
This device is amazing. From it’s kid-friendly, durable design to it’s adaptive technology, it will take your child’s learning to the next level.
With the Epic, your child can create a virtual world on the home screen. It is really cool. They can interact with characters, place objects, watch the sun come up and go down and discover all kinds of fun features. It also includes a clock and real-time weather.
This tablet also allows you to download (at a separate charge) educator-approved, kid-favorited Android apps, like Doodle Jump.
As a parent, you can manage settings for three profiles. You can even predetermine what, when and how long each child plays. I think this is a very important feature. I love that I can set several parameters for the tablet.
With Just for Me Learning™, your child will never get bored. This unique feature allows for the personalization of select games, which challenges your child as they increase their learning capacity.
The LeapSearch™ browser provides safety in Web searching. You can even tailor Web content to kid-appropriate sites.
My favorite feature is the shatter-safe LCD screen and green bumper. This protects the tablet from drops and bumps. You can see from the photo below that the bumper also provides a grippy surface allowing for easier handling.

As a Mom, I grateful that I don’t have to worry about pop ups, in-app purchases or harmful ads when my daughter is using the Epic.
My daughter loves this tablet and enjoys interacting with her own virtual world. She can literally spend hours playing the educational games.
She loves the stylus. She is a huge fan of using my smart phone’s stylus and was really excited to get one of her very own. I’m thrilled that LeapFrog attached the stylus to the tablet for safekeeping.
