New Artisan Whole Grain Pizza Crust from Pillsbury-Sponsored Video

ByJessica Wellington 1 Comment August 10, 2012

I don’t know about you, but as a busy mom, I’m always looking for easy ways to get a quick, healthy meal on the table. The Artisan Pizza Crust From Pillsbury fits the bill. This whole grain crust is extremely versatile and can be tailored to meet the needs of any family. The crust is easy to use and cooks relatively quickly. All I have to do is put it in a pan and apply the toppings.

When I make a meal like this for my almost three-year-old daughter, I like to blend steamed spinach or cauliflower with pizza sauce so that I can mask the flavor of some of her not so favorite vegetables. Once I add this mixture to the crust, I top it with provolone and mozzarella cheese. Then I add her favorite toppings like pepperoni and black olives. Not only will my family get the benefit of 16 grams of whole grain per serving from this crust, but will also get a serving of vegetables.
Even when I make a quick meal like this one, I always include my daughter in the process. We enjoy cooking together. She especially likes to open the Pillsbury container and hear the popping noise. While it may take me a few minutes longer to cook with my little helper, the end result is worth it. She has a real sense of accomplishment when we put the meal on the table. I’ve also noticed that she tends to eat more of a meal that she helped to prepare.

Use this crust as an opportunity to cook with your kids and put a quick, nutritious meal on the table.

This post was sponsored by Pillsbury but the writing and opinions are my own.

I love their Cinnamon Rolls. They are delish and for me hold wofndreul memories from when I was a kid. My father passed away 3 years ago and I miss him dearly. He loved to make breakfast for us on the weekends and we loved to eat his breakfasts! Often he’d make the Pillsbury Cinnamon rolls and let us help him ice them. I must say a difficult feat considering how much my siblings and I loved to sneak the frosting out of the can before they made it to the rolls. Wonderful warm memories for me and traditions that I am carrying on with my own children.
