MOOCs and Continuing Education

ByJessica Wellington Leave a Comment July 8, 2013

A few years ago, I went back to school to get my master’s degree. A lot of people think that going back to school as an adult is very difficult. I have to tell you that age has no bearing on academic success.

If you are hesitant about investing in a degree, you could try a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). These courses are open and free. All you need is Internet access. There are a numerous courses on a variety of subjects. These courses provide you with the opportunity to learn new skills and get comfortable going back to school before you make a financial investment. You can also use them as a way to figure out what topics are of interest to you. For more information about MOOCs, visit Student Advisor.

I wrote an article for Student Advisor about effectively managing your time while going to school. I talk about managing your calendar, planning ahead and scheduling time to study. You can read my article here.

For more information about MOOCs, please visit StudentAdvisor.com. I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective, and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
