Monkey Kingdom features Maya, a clever and resourceful blonde-bobbed monkey.

Disneynature’s new film features a backdrop of ancient ruins in the jungles of South Asia.

Maya is part of a complicated extended family. Things get even more difficult when she gives birth to her son Kip.

Maya wants what is best for her son. So, when a group of powerful monkeys take over her home at Castle Rock, she has to face many challenges.

Her whole family retreats. Maya has to use her smarts and ingenuity to uncover resources in her strange new environment. The family has to work together to reclaim Castle Rock and provide the best future for her son.

This new film features a variety of memorable characters, including a mischievous mongoose, simple-minded langur monkeys, predatory leopards and monitor lizards.

Monkey Kingdom is narrated by Tina Fey (“30 Rock”), directed by Mark Linfield (“Chimpanzee,” “Earth”) and co-directed by Alastair Fothergill (“Chimpanzee,” “Bears”).

The film features music from award-winning composer Harry Gregson-Williams (“The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” “Shrek” movies), Disneynature’s eighth True Life Adventure. The film opens on April 17, 2015.
