ByJessica Wellington 1 Comment July 25, 2014

This Cool Whip playdough recipe will produce hours of fun for your kids.

I think almost everyone I know has a tub of Cool Whip in their freezer. You can use it in so many different ways or just eat it plain.

Did you know you can use Cool Whip to make an amazing, squishy chilly playdough?

It couldn’t be easier to make a batch of Cool Whip playdough.

My daughter loved making this playdough. She helped out by measuring ingredients and mixing everything together.

Cool Whip Playdough Recipe

Ingredients

1 3/4 cups Cool Whip (thawed on the counter for about 10 minutes)

2 tsp water

1 1/4 cup corn starch+1-2 tsp. extra for the work surface

Instructions

Mix all ingredients and add additional corn starch to reduce stickiness. We found it easier (and much more fun) to mix everything with our hands.

Lightly sprinkle corn starch on a work surface. Knead the dough a few times to make sure everything is incorporated.

This dough has a great squishy consistency. If it gets too sticky, just add a little bit of corn starch. If it gets too dry, add a little water.

You could add food coloring to the dough to change the color. We decided to make a white playdough and use sprinkles. My daughter LOVES sprinkles and looks for any opportunity to use them. Since the Cool Whip playdough has a unique texture, the sprinkles actually change the color. This made my daughter super happy.

About the Cool Whip…. I let it thaw a tiny bit before we used it. We had fun squishing and mixing the frozen Cool Whip with the other ingredients. You could let it thaw more if you dont want to it to have a chilly consistency. Since it is summer, though, we wanted our dough to be cold.

I put down a thin plastic cutting board as a work surface for the playdough. It worked great.

I hope you and your kids have a blast making Cool Whip playdough.
