Vanilla Mint Glitter Play Dough

ByJessica Wellington Leave a Comment March 12, 2013

This is part two of the Play Dough cupcake components. You will find the full tutorial on the blog tomorrow. This recipe is similar to the chocolate mint glitter play dough recipe with a few changes. This can be customized by adding your own choice of food coloring and glitter.

If you have a collection of cookie cutters, let your kids use them to play with the dough. They will have a great time cutting out shapes.

Vanilla Mint Glitter Play Dough Recipe

1&1/2 cups flour + extra for kneading
1/2 tsp. vanilla powder or vanilla extract
1 Tbsp. canola oil
1/4 cup salt
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
1 tsp. glitter
1 cup boiling water
1-2 drops of food coloring (we used green)
-Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl except for the water.
-Boil one cup of water in the microwave in a microwave safe dish (it usually takes mine about 1 minute).
-Add the boiling water to the bowl of ingredients. Stir.
-Flour a work surface and your hands. Knead the dough until firm (just like you would bread dough).
–If the dough still feels sticky, add more flour until it reaches a smooth consistency.
-Store in an air tight container in the refrigerator.
