healthy snack idea

As you’re getting ready for the back-to-school season, consider this delicious, protein-packed, healthy snack recipe!

It’s almost back to school time. In my house, we are getting ready for the upcoming year.

Let’s be honest, the school year is a super hectic time for parents. We will spend time keeping up with homework, participating in school activities, going to events and practices. Since we will be very busy, it is important to stay healthy.

As a parent, you know how important it is to avoid getting sick during the school year. Whenever my daughter brings an illness home, it seems like we all get it.

We take simple actions to avoid germs like washing our hands and using disinfecting wipes around the house. On the go, when we can’t wash our hands, we use hand sanitizer.

Also, my entire family takes vitamins, drinks plenty of water and always tries to eat a balanced diet.

During our last trip to Walmart, we decided to stock up on several items to help us stay healthy during the year. I love that I can find groceries and back-to-school supplies in one location.

When I headed to the pharmacy section, I decided to pick up a box of Emergen-C and a package of ChapStick.

Both products were available in several flavor options.

I chose the super orange Emergen-C and the cherry ChapStick.

Emergen-C is packed with B vitamins, antioxidants†, electrolytes plus more vitamin C than 10 oranges^. With over 20 flavors, you have plenty of delicious varieties to choose from.*

Because I like to avoid painful chapped lips, I chose ChapStick. It softens and protects lips every day with 11 moisturizing ingredients. SPF 12 provides UVB protection. Hydrating formula contains aloe and vitamin E.

After I finished shopping, I returned home and was inspired to make a delicious snack.

You may be a little surprised, but Emergen-C can be very useful when it comes to apple slices. It keeps them from turning brown!
