Delicious Crock Pot Barbecue

ByJessica Wellington 5 Comments May 23, 2013

You might be skeptical when I tell you this crock pot barbecue recipe only has two ingredients. No, it isnt a mistake. It literally only requires two ingredients.

This is one of my family’s favorite meals. It is so easy to make in your crock pot. Just throw everything in and dinner is ready later that evening. It doesnt get any better.

This recipe is perfect for any cook out or event. Not only is it super simple, it lets you avoid grilling outside when temperatures are sweltering. This makes a really great meal that everyone will enjoy.

Crock Pot Barbecue

Crock Pot Barbecue Recipe

Ingredients:

  • One 40 oz. bottle barbecue sauce (I like Sweet Baby Ray’s)
  • One 3-5lb. pork shoulder

Instructions:

  1. Put the meat in the crock pot.
  2. Pour the barbecue sauce on top of the meat.
  3. It is OK if the barbecue sauce doesn’t completely cover the meat.
  4. Cook on low for 8-10 hours.
  5. Remove meat and shred.
  6. Serve with extra barbecue sauce.

I usually shred the meat with two forks. It makes things easier.

You can eat this meat in so many ways. You can make a barbecue baked potato or serve it as a sandwich. You can also eat it by itself.
