Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta Bake

ByJessica Wellington 3 Comments July 25, 2012

chicken cordon bleu pasta bake
Chicken cordon bleu pasta bake is one of my family’s favorite meals. It is really, really delicious. It combines all of our favorite things: pasta, ham, chicken and cheese.

I love chicken cordon bleu. This is such an easy way to make it. Plus, I love that everything is baked together with pasta.

It is a relatively quick and easy meal to prepare.

Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta Bake Recipe

Ingredients:

5 Tbsp. butter
4 cloves garlic
16 oz. of pasta
1/2 cup flour
3/4 cup gruyere cheese
1/2 cup of parmesan reggiano
1/2 cup of provolone cheese
4 cups milk (I used a mixture of skim and 1%)
4 boneless skinless cooked chicken breasts cut into strips
1/2 cup of finely diced ham
dash of seasoned salt

Instructions:

Sprinkle the chicken with seasoned salt and saute (until cooked through) on the stove in about 1 Tbsp. oil. Cook and drain the pasta. Melt butter and add flour and garlic. Stir until combined and bubbling. Add the milk and bring to a boil. Turn the stove to low and add the all of the cheese except the provolone. Combine until incorporated and remove from the heat. Cut the chicken into strips and add it and the ham to the cheese mixture. Stir to combine. Add the pasta. Spray a large baking dish with cooking spray and pour the mixture in. Bake about 15 minutes at 400. Top with the provolone and bake an additional 5-10 minutes.

If you want to make this meal prep even faster, you could use a rotisserie chicken. Instead of cutting the chicken into strips, you could use shredded.

Lord have mercy on me… that's so beautiful. Butter, gruyere, pasta… this dish deserves its own song 🙂 Pinning it!
