Bisquick Cauliflower Pizza

ByJessica Wellington 8 Comments August 12, 2012

I know Cauliflower Crust Pizza is all the rage right now. I tried several of the recipes that use cauliflower and eggs to make the crust and found them only mildly palatable.

Since my husband and toddler both do not like cauliflower, I decided to incorporate it into a Bisquick pizza crust. I was surprised that the crust tasted nothing like cauliflower. I was even more surprised when my family devoured it. If you like Bisquick pizza, you wont even notice the addition of cauliflower.

Your child could easily participate in the preparation of this recipe. I let my daughter do the mixing, help put the dough in the pan and distribute the toppings.

Bisquick Cauliflower Pizza

Ingredients:

  • 1&1/2 cups of Heart Healthy Bisquick (or regular Bisquick)
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1/3 cup steamed and blended cauliflower (I steamed frozen cauliflower in the microwave)
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • Pizza Sauce
  • Cheese
  • Pizza Toppings

Instructions:

  1. Steam the cauliflower.
  2. Blend it until smooth.
  3. Put the mixture in a paper towel and remove excess moisture.
  4. Mix the Bisquick, Italian seasoning, garlic powder blended cauliflower and hot water until it forms a dough. If the dough is still very sticky, add extra Bisquick.
  5. Spray a pan with cooking spray and spread dough into it.
  6. Top with sauce, cheese and desired toppings.
  7. Bake at 450 for 10-12 minutes.

I love Bisquick pizza and this tastes great. I love that I was able to include cauliflower in a way that my family was happy to eat it.
