Renting Textbooks Saves Money For College Students

ByJessica Wellington Leave a Comment April 11, 2013

Disclosure:  I was compensated for this post, but the writing and opinions are my own.

When I was an undergraduate student, I never rented textbooks. I didn’t even know such a service existed. As a result, I bought books and sold them back to the campus book store at the end of each semester. I very rarely made much money off of those sales.

A few years ago, however, I went to graduate school and got my master’s degree. It was during this time, I discovered that renting textbooks saves a lot of money. I don’t know about you, but I rarely use my textbooks after I’ve finished a class. Most of my old textbooks sit on a bookshelf and collect dust. As a result, I always rented my textbooks whenever I was given the opportunity. A resource for students interested in renting textbooks is http://www.campusbookrentals.com.

There are many benefits to renting textbooks from Campus Book Rentals:
-Save 40-90 percent off of bookstore prices
-Free shipping both ways
-You can still use the book as though you’ve purchased it—you can actually highlight in it (this is almost unheard of)
-30 day risk free guarantee
-Flexible renting options

In addition, you get to support a good cause. For every textbook rented, Campus Book Rentals will make a donation to Operation Smile. This organization performs surgeries on children (whose families cannot afford it) to repair cleft lips.

If you already own a textbook and want to make some extra money, visit http://www.rentback.com. This site is a new program from Campus Book Rentals. It allows you to rent out your own textbooks and make money.
