Part-Time Mermaid

ByJessica Wellington Leave a Comment March 21, 2018

I received Part-Time Mermaid to facilitate this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

If your kids love imagination and underwater fun, check out Part-Time Mermaid, written by Deborah Underwood and illustrated by Cambria Evans. From Disney-Hyperion, this adorable book is available on March 27, 2018. From it’s glittery cover to whimsical illustrations, your child will be engaged from the first page to the last.

Not only does this book feature easy-to-read text, perfect for the young reader, it encourages imagination. Your child will join the main character, a little girl, as she transforms into a magical mermaid!

Like any regular kid, the part-time mermaid has to keep her room clean and deal with a sibling who constantly follows her around. However, at night when she falls asleep, she magically travels to the bottom of the ocean. In this area, she has adorable undersea friends and even lives in a sea palace! When things get a little messy, the part-time mermaid has the perfect solution—have cleaner shrimp clean up the palace.

She has plenty of fun adventures in her underwater home. As she plays at the bottom of the ocean, she is joined by a merboy (who is really her brother). When he goes missing, it is up to the part-time mermaid to save the day!

My daughter, who loves mermaids, has declared this book to be her new favorite! She reads it all of the time and loves everything about it. She absolutely loves the sparkly cover. She doesn’t even want to put it away because she likes to look at it.

At any age, it can be tough to get kids to read. However, once your kids see the cover of this fun book, they will not be able to put it down!
