ByJessica Wellington 5 Comments June 24, 2015

This is a sponsored post. All thoughts an opinions are my own.

What could be better than a bowl of delicious cereal? How about an easy apple crisp topped with an amazing, crunchy layer of Honey Bunches of Oats?

I love apple crisp. I also love Honey Bunches of Oats. By combining the two, I created an incredible dessert that tastes great! The combination of delicious apples topped with a crunchy layer of Honey Bunches of Oats is one of the best ways to eat apple crisp.

I love to make apple crisp in the summer. I think it is a great dish to bring to barbecues and other events. Plus, you can make this dessert a lot more fun by topping it with ice cream.

Trust me, you won’t believe how incredible this cereal tastes on top of the delicious baked apple mixture. Seriously. We couldn’t stop eating it. The topping is so delicious, I could eat it in a bowl all by itself.

Now, back to the recipe. This is such an easy way to make an incredible apple crisp. To me, even more important than the apples, is the topping. It has to be crunchy. I do not like a soggy topping. It just ruins the dessert.

By using delicious Honey Bunches of Oats, the topping is nothing short of baking perfection. It maintains its crispy texture. It is unreal.

In another bowl, add the cereal. Using your hands, or a blunt edge, crush it into smaller pieces. (You don’t want the cereal to be pulverized, just reduced in size.)

Add the flour, brown sugar, salt and cinnamon.

This is such an incredible, simple apple crisp recipe. I love that it uses cereal to add an extra crunch to the topping. The flavors of the Honey Bunches of Oats really complement the apples.

We love this recipe! It’s best the day it is made because the top is crunchy! The leftovers the topping gets soggy. Do you know how to keep the topping crunchy after the first day?
