There are so many benefits to buying a brand new home. I’ve purchased a new home twice. Each time, I was able to customize options based on my family’s preferences. My favorite customization is always paint color. During the design phase of my new home, I was able to choose custom color options for each room. This saved me tons of time. I’m very happy that I didn’t have to spend hours repainting each room with our color preferences.
I also like the option of customizing things like flooring, cabinetry and lighting. After choosing my options, I feel like I had a direct impact on the design of my home.
Not only can you tailor design your home, energy efficient home owners reap all sorts of benefits. The house heats and cools better, it has a smaller carbon footprint and the windows keep outdoor temperatures outside.
I have noticed several differences between living in a new energy efficient home versus an older residence. First, the house seems quieter. I can’t hear anything that goes on outdoors. Secondly, there is a financial benefit. My energy bills have been much lower in my new home. I am still surprised that I can run my air conditioning all summer and my electric bill is still reasonable.
Also, if you look around the Web at sites like this one, you will notice that a majority of new home floor plans are open. I love that the floor plan of my home allows me to easily keep an eye on my daughter, even when she is in the next room. I also love the amount of storage that is available in my home. If you have kids, you know that you can never have too much storage space.
