With some hesitation, my husband and I decided to go shopping on Black Friday. After battling the somewhat angry crowds, we decided to stop at Starbucks on our way home. I felt kind of grumpy after spending a couple of hours with shoppers who plowed through the stores without giving any consideration to those around them. To make matters worse, my daughter was screaming in the back seat of the car because she was tired of being in her car seat. As we pulled up to the drive through, my husband allowed another car to cut in front of us. He waived her on with a smile. When I asked him why he let her cut in front of us, he said he was just being nice. I have to admit I was a little bit miffed by his actions because the line was already long and I was ready to go home. As we pulled up to pay for our drinks, the barista informed us that the woman he let cut in front of us had paid for our entire order! I was literally speechless. People just don’t do random acts of kindness anymore. My husband and I were very moved by the stranger’s generosity. It just goes to show you that there is still a lot of good in this world, even on Black Friday.
